Congratulations to Rachel and Chris, who were married this past Saturday at St. Paul’s Christian Church in Raleigh, NC. Rachel and Chris met while they were both in training to become diplomats with the State Department. They planned their wedding with Chris stationed in Washington, D.C. and Rachel stationed in Bahrain. I had enough trouble planning our California wedding from here in North Carolina. I can’t imagine trying to plan from a different continent with my fiance half way around the world!
The corset back on Rachel’s dress was gorgeous, and definitely a multi-person job to lace up:

The beautiful boquet from English Garden Florist:

The ladies tried to peek around the corner as they waited for the signal from the wedding coordinator:

Rachel and her father. These kinds of shots always make me miss my daddy back in California!:

Apparently Rachel gets asked to sing during weddings a lot, but this time she got to surprise Chris with a song:

After the ceremony, Chris and Rachel had a receiving line:

This little guy wasn’t too sure about the whole thing:

These boys made me smile. I overheard their conversation and they were discussing the correct way to have your jacket buttoned….

I think this might be what romance novels are talking about when they say “gazed adoringly into each other’s eyes.” 🙂

Love me some natural light!

The reception was at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh:

There’s another one of those looks:

Rachel’s parents were among the first to hit the dance floor:

You can’t see Chris’ face in this image, but I think Rachel’s says it all, doesn’t it?
