One of the really cool things about shooting weddings is the, for lack of a better word, voyeuristic aspect of it.  While photographing a wedding, I am witness to some of the most intimate moments of the day, from laughter to tears, from overwhelming joy to nerves stretched to tantrum proportions.  I see the dynamics of family interaction, I know who the bossy sister growing up was, or how the bride and groom transform around their college buddies or work colleagues or their best friend since the third grade.  I see how people react to stress, and to whom they turn for comfort, and how much they let their hair down.  At Kristi and Stu’s wedding, I got to know in a very small way a woman I will never have the privilege to meet.  Kristi’s mother passed away several years ago, but the impact she had on the lives around her was so tangible.   How beautiful to know this woman’s life and love are still treasured and celebrated, not just by those who met her, but also by those who came after like Kristi’s step mother and step sisters.  I was honored to witness it.  And the wedding was definitely a celebration, as you’ll see from the images!  Stu went from being very camera shy (Stu is also a photographer, and like most of us shooters, is much more comfortable behind a camera!) to actually having me reassemble my equipment to take one more shot.  How fun is that?  Check out some of the images for yourself in this slideshow.
