Wedding season is back in full swing!  Here’s a wedding a shot this past weekend at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst.  My couple, Celia and Nick, actually live in Washington D.C. and were doing all of their planning long distance with the help of Celia’s family.  I can definitely relate as David and I planned our California wedding from here in Raleigh!  The weather ended up being perfect for an outdoor wedding and reception.  I hadn’t shot there before, but the country club has gorgeous grounds with a lot of mature azaleas and dogwood trees that were in full bloom.

I really liked the vintage feel of Celia’s dress:

And speaking of vintage, the garter that she wore was 50 some years old!  Several family members had worn it before her, including her mother:

The lighting in this shot is from the videographer’s camera.  I love the dramatic feel it gives this image of Celia’s aunt putting a flower in her hair:

A quick shot of Celia putting that very special garter on:

Usually one of my favorite shots of the couple at every wedding is as they walk down the aisle at the conclusion of the ceremony.  The joy in their faces says it all, doesn’t it?

We took a few minutes to walk around and do some portraits before the reception.  While I love candid shots, there’s definitely something to be said for a beautiful portrait of the couple:

The Country Club of North Carolina has beautiful outdoor reception space and the weather was perfect:

The first dance:

Such enthusiasm!

Celia’s uncle definitely knows how to have a good time on the dance floor!

Somehow he sneaked in their dog to enjoy the dancing for a few minutes:

Enjoying the reception:

And finally a sparkler exit, and then off to St. Lucia!
