For my last wedding of the year, I had the privilege to work with Audrey and Stefan.  Because both are serving in the military on active duty, we weren’t able to actually meet until the day of the wedding.  I do enjoy it when I’m able to get to know my couples ahead of time, but there’s also something uniquely photo-journalistic meeting  for the first time through the lens of a camera!

There was something striking to me in Audrey’s wedding gown and Stefan’s dress uniform hanging side by side:

Beautiful Bride:

Audrey and Stefan opted to see each other before the ceremony.  One of the benefits to doing it that way is that, unlike during the ceremony,  the couple actually get to interact when they see each other for the first time:

I know some people think seeing each other before the ceremony will take away from the emotion, but I’ve never found that to be the case.  Here, Stefan returns the favor and brushes away Audrey’s tears:
