Recently I had the opportunity to shoot a bridal portrait with Amanda. She and I had worked together before when I shot her and her husband Cameron’s wedding. It wasn’t quite a “trash the dress” session, but we were definitely able to be more casual with the dress than we would have been pre-wedding! I’ve had an idea for quite a while to shoot a bridal portrait in the garden on the chaise lounge that I use for boudoir, and I finally got to do it with Amanda!
I love the elegant and romantic feel of this image:

The garden looked beautiful (not to mention Amanda!), and the weather was perfect:

Next to our house is a large field. Every spring it’s covered in this cool grass that is topped with red grain heads. It makes the whole field look red. I thought it would be a gorgeous setting to shoot Amanda in. All week long I was worried that they would mow it before the shoot, but they didn’t! I’m so glad because it was even better than I had hoped:

One of the benefits to shooting a bridal portrait after the fact was that we were able to include Cameron in some of the shots:

Amanda did her happy dance for us, and it must have worked because she had us all laughing!
